Maybe you’ve read about it. Maybe you’ve heard about rumors about it. Since you're here, you’ve probably noticed it: The Change.
The 3RVS website has undergone another major revision both in the backend software that runs the site, and the templates that give the site its appearance. But, I’d like to briefly point out a couple of the new user features that you might have missed. If you look at the picture above and follow the arrow to the upper right hand corner you'll see something new; five boxes labelled A+, A-, R, ||, and <>. They do the following: “A+” will increase the text size. Each time you press this, the text on the page increases in size. The “A-” box does the opposite, making the text smaller. Once set, the text should remain the same size the next time you visit the site. The “R” box will reset the text to the default size.
Directly under the 3 Rivers Velo Sport text on the left is a black menu bar with white labels for the 3RVS Home, Forum, Schedules, Facebook and Contact Us. Clicking on the Forum or Facebook label takes you there in a new window. When you move your mouse over the Schedule and Contact Us labels you'll see a drop-down menu that you can choose from. Some people like this sort of thing, and I've found I use it more than I thought I would. Try it out. The 2009 Festival Photos has changed as well. Click on the link in the “Of Interest” menu on the left hand side of the page, and then click on any picture. A Lightbox effect will start showing that picture. If you press the play button you'll get a nice slideshow. Or you can manually step through the pictures. The last change is the most obvious one: the rotating banner pictures. We can have up to 15 different pictures at a time in the banner. So that it for the user end of the website. I think it looks great, but it will be even better with your contributions! All the bells and whistles don't mean anything without your stories and pictures. If you've done a ride, just write down a couple of paragraphs, like you were talking to your friends, and send it to me. If you have a few pictures, send them too. You don't have to be Hemingway, so don't worry about your writing. Please contribute to make our website even better.
