Girls Ride Out
girls girls girlsGirls Ride Out rides are on Thursday evenings at 6:00 pm, leaving from St. Pat's Church in Arcola, 12305 Arcola Road, Arcola, IN. Here is a map to St. Pat's.

The GRO's focus is to have fun while riding our road bikes. We will keep the speed at around 15 mph, and there will be ride leaders to help keep everyone together.

This moderately-paced ride is to get more women out on bicycles. The plan is to ride at a pace that allows us to keep the group togehter, help new riders to become familiar with riding with others, and to finish with wanting more.

Ride information is communicated through the website, newsletter and email. I do not have everyone's email address, so if you would like late breaking news please send me an email so I can add you to my list.

Before you ride:

  • Make sure your bike is in GOOD working order. Pump up tires to the pressure specified on the sidewall.
  • Bring essentials:  spare tube, pump, patch kit, water bottles, pocket food, ID and money.
  • Eat before the ride... bring water. Since sunset is approaching, we will not be stopping for a rest break.

Lights:

A tail light would be recommended 'just in case'.  Most tail lights are flashing, but it would be nice if it had a solid light so the person riding behind doesn't fall into a hypnotic trance.
